Jeffrey LaDeur & Friends
(piano, mezzo-soprano, flute, and viola)
Delight in this enticing program of French chamber music for piano, mezzo-soprano, flute, and viola, concluding with Chopin’s virtuosic Allegro de Concert for piano.
Acclaimed as “a pianist and musician of striking spontaneity, perception, and depth” (Robert MacDonald, Curtis Institute), Jeffrey LaDeur is also recognized for his imaginative programming and creative collaborations with fellow artists. This concert features mezzo-soprano Kindra Scharich, praised by the San Francisco Chronicle for her “irrepressible musical splendor.” “Kindra Scharich has a spectacularly beautiful voice, and I do not say such things often.” (Steven Ritter, Audiophile Audition, 2021, review of album “To My Distant Beloved,” with LaDeur as pianist.)
Featured also in this concert are flutist Jessie Nucho, San Francisco Conservatory graduate who performs regularly with new music ensembles, and violist James Larson, who has performed several seasons with the Cleveland Orchestra among other symphonies and ensembles.
The following is the program:
Maurice Ravel: Shéhérazade for mezzo-soprano and piano
Germaine Tailleferre: Forlane for flute and piano
Francis Poulenc: Sonate for flute and piano
Charles Loeffler: Four Poémes for mezzo-soprano, piano, and viola, Op. 5
Frédéric Chopin: Allegro de Concert for piano, Op. 46
